Colchester chief executive Marie Partner is close to making their third signing after having a bid accepted for Walsall defender Daniel Fox.The Championship side have already signed Chris Coyne and Phil Ifill and hope to complete the deal for 21-year-old Fox soon.

Partner told the club's official website: "To confirm reports elsewhere, we have had a firm bid accepted on Saturday by Walsall for Daniel Fox.

"Further discussions will now take place after official permission by Walsall was given to talk to the player."
