Ferguson let down by Posh players

Sun 13 Jan, 01:45 PM

Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson was "shocked" to lose 1-0 at home to Macclesfield just a week after toppling Colchester in the FA Cup.The Posh chief was at a loss to explain why his players had produced such a sub-standard performance just seven days after beating the Championship outfit 3-1 at Layer Road.

"The players have not only shocked me, but also let me down massively." Ferguson blasted.

"I just can't understand where this performance came from and what the players produced was nowhere near being good enough to get promotion.

"I never got the feeling we would get out of jail and we have only got ourselves to blame."
