Midfielder Marcus Bean of high-flyers Brentford has been named Powerade League Two Player of the Month for December.Bean fended off competition from Dagenham striker Paul Benson, Aldershot hitman Kirk Hudson and Macclesfield's Martin Gritton to claim the accolade.
The 24-year-old notched three goals in four matches for the Bees last month, including a brace in the 2-0 win at home to Bournemouth on Boxing Day.
Chairman of the awards panel Chris Kamara said: "Marcus has enjoyed an outstanding month for Brentford.
"He has chipped in with some vital goals, most notably with his double against Bournemouth.
"His attacking displays from midfield are proving a valuable asset to Andy Scott's side as they continue to keep pace with Wycombe at the top of League Two."
