Big names turn out for Greaves

Sir Alex Ferguson, Denis Law and Frank Worthington were among those who attended the funeral of former Huddersfield boss Ian Greaves on Monday.Greaves, who died aged 76 on January 2, steered both Town and Bolton to promotion to the old First Division in the 1969/70 and 1977/8 seasons respectively.

Worthington, who played in both sides under Greaves, said: "I played under a lot of managers, and I'm being honest when I say only Sir Alf Ramsey was better.

"Sir Alf won a World Cup and that shows just how much regard I hold Greavesie in."

Sam Allardyce, Peter Reid and another former Terriers manager, Stan Ternent, were also among the congregation at Christ Church in Heaton, near Bolton.
