Mauro Zarate's agent has quashed suggestions Manchester City have bid £27.2million for the former Birmingham forward, who is now with Lazio. The Argentine star, who spent time on loan at St Andrew's last season, is now on loan with the Serie A giants.
It had been suggested City could usurp Lazio's attempts to secure Zarate's services permanently by brokering their own deal with Qatar outfit Al-Sadd.
However, Zarate's agent and brother Sergio says no City bid has been lodged and that the 21-year-old is happy in Rome.
"The English side never offered €30million (£27.2m)," said Zarate's agent.
"It's something that's also surfaced in Italy but for the moment it's not true.
"Mauro, of whom all we know the value, is really happy in Rome."

Zarate could not get into the Birmingham side, not worth £5m let alone what they are asking. Man City should not bother.
