Notts County's experienced defender Jamie Clapham is set to sign a deal to stay with the Magpies until the end of the season.The 33-year-old has made 21 starts for the club since signing a short-term contract in September.

The former Ipswich player has had an offer from Dagenham but he is hopeful of remaining with County.

"We have spoken and I think we are close to agreeing a deal but nothing has been signed yet," he told the Nottingham Evening Post.

"I don't want to say too much on it until it is done and dusted because anything can happen. But hopefully we will get it done this week.

"I have said all along that if I can sort something out here I would like to stay because I have enjoyed it."
