Kerr confident in attacking pair

Tue 13 Jan, 04:00 PM

Lincoln captain Scott Kerr believes the Imps' new strikeforce can turn the League Two club's poor current campaign around. The Imps made a sluggish start to the season, but the arrivals of Geoff Horsfield and Anthony Elding could prove a major factor in reviving Lincoln's bid for promotion.

Kerr told the Lincolnshire Echo: "They are going to make a massive difference to our chances of going up because, as you can see, they've both got goals in them.

"Geoff, especially oozes quality because he holds the ball up well and brings the midfield into play. Anthony does a lot of unselfish running and works ever so hard to get in behind teams and you can see how we reaped the benefits of that.

"Their arrivals in my opinion, are big statements of intent of what we want to achieve this season".

Meanwhile, the club will not appeal against Paul Green's red card in the 2-2 draw against Brentford last weekend. Manager Peter Jackson added: "I think it was a red because if you lead in like Green did, it is a sending off."
