Strong squad heads to Roots Hall

Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari will take a strong squad to Southend for Wednesday night's FA Cup third-round replay at Roots Hall.Brazilian defender Alex is fit again after hamstring problems but Scolari remains without winger Florent Malouda (hamstring) and midfielder Michael Essien (knee).

Youngsters Jeffrey Bruma and Lee Sawyer are likely to be added to a squad that will attempt to avoid a shock cup exit at the hands of the League One side.

  3. from this squad ,should scolari,s chosen team fail to win after 90 minutes ,then i plead that romaan abramovich looks and acts for a replacement for mr scolari.
    his team choices are the ones that are failing...
    going back to the ideals of jose mouhrino that those who dont deliver on the pitch get dropped and have to fight to regain their place in the squad.

    there are names in the squad that to some are unknown but look at their pedigree,s many of the unknown are internationals and worthy of squad recogntion...
