Championship - Lita rejects Blades move
Eurosport - Tue, 13 Jan 15:06:00 2009
Leroy Lita has rejected a move to Sheffield United despite Reading accepting a "seven-figure" bid from the Blades.
The Blades saw Lita as a replacement for Stoke-bound James Beattie, but were not able to agree personal terms with the 24-year-old.
A Blades' statement read: "The club has had a seven-figure offer accepted by Reading for Leroy Lita, but at this stage are unable to reach agreement with his agent."
United had earlier sold leading goalscorer James Beattie to Stoke for a fee which could rise to £3.5million and are now in the hunt for a replacement.
Lita recently completed a loan spell at Norwich, during which he netted seven times in 16 appearances.
He returned from the loan to score his first goal of the season for Reading after coming off the bench in last Friday's 4-0 home win over Watford.
Norwich remain keen to re-sign him on loan but Lita, who has also been linked to West Bromwich Albion, said: "I have spoken to the manager and he told me he would love me to stay here and be part of things.
"I made it clear that I have no plans to go anywhere. I never felt not wanted, but I like playing. I made it clear that if I wasn't playing then it was better to go out on loan, but I love the club and I want to put in my shift and help the team.
"I'm here now and I want to be a part of this season. I have no other thoughts in my head apart from helping us achieve what we want at the end of the season."

lita is the tits. if he left us i really dont think we could find another player quite like him.
it would be good if reading would let lita out on loan to us again a norwich city as things are not goog for us at the mo and leroy gave our team that little spark we need i think with out him we might go down so we hope and pray steve coppell will help us out at carrow road.
Leroy Lita is a great play and Reading FC would be mad to send him on loan or sell him.
He's a player who can help us up to the premiership and stay there.
So Steve coppell keep playing as much as you can.
