Macclesfield manager Ian Brightwell accused his side of pressing the self-destruct button once again in the 2-1 defeat to Grimsby.Danny North capitalised on a defensive mix-up to open the scoring, before Gareth Evans levelled matters for the Silkmen.
But Jamie Clarke stole the points for the Mariners with a thumping volley.
"It was another give-away, we didn't get out of the blocks and we gave them a goal," Brightwell said.
"In the second half we did a lot better but you can't legislate for mistakes like that and even though their lad had a good finish, it was a stupid mistake.
"After we scored we then stood still and gave their player too much space. Things will turn round and we will get the win that we need to get out of this but it was another disappointing night."
