Ferrie strike boosts soaring Swans

Ferrie Bodde's long-range goal proved the difference as League One leaders Swansea moved closer to promotion with a 1-0 home win over Walsall.The Saddlers almost earned a point thanks to the heroics of goalkeeper Clayton Ince, who kept out Andy Robinson, Jason Scotland and Darren Pratley's 80th-minute penalty.

Swansea were struggling to get any flow to their play before Bodde tested Ince with a fine long-range strike.

Then Bodde took centre stage as he struck home his seventh of the season with a stunning long-range finish after 52 minutes.

Pratley was denied from the spot after Paul Boertien had been adjudged to have tripped Tom Butler.

Walsall almost the hosts pay with Troy Deeney and sub Ishmel Demontagnac going close to stealing a point.
