Gray bemoans Glovers defeat

Wed 13 Feb, 01:00 PM

Northampton boss Stuart Gray claimed the clash with Yeovil looked destined for a draw until a last-gasp goal consigned the Cobblers to defeat.Yeovil captain Skiverton moved up from the back to rifle home a left-footed drive deep in stoppage time to give the Glovers their first victory in nine games.

The Cobblers had gone six games without defeat and Gray said: "It looked as though it was going to be goalless.

"We didn't create much in the final third, but neither did Yeovil. It was one of those games that seemed to be heading for 0-0.

"I know Russell Slade was upset over the penalty decision, but the referee was close and if it was a stonewall penalty, he should have given it.

"If it wasn't in his opinion, he should have booked the Yeovil lad for diving."
