Celtic striker Aiden McGeady believes whoever becomes Scottish Premier League champions could make their decisive move in March.Rangers currently sit four points clear at the top of the SPL in a championship race which many expect to go right to the wire.
The Old Firm rivals must still play each other another three times this season, with the next clash set to take place on March 29.
According to McGeady, the team who will carry off the SPL title could have asserted themselves at the top by that stage.
And the 21-year-old hopes Celtic boss Gordon Strachan's January recruits make all the difference, with Barry Robson, Andreas Hinkel and Georgios Samaras already making an impact.
He said: "The fans are getting excited because they know the manager has brought in some real quality, and it's great for the team to have fresh faces and more options.
"The fact that we are pushing for the title means it's going to help us in the long run and there is still a lot of football to be played this season.
"We're not going to take our eye off the ball or look too far into the future but, at the moment, I think March is shaping up to be a key month, one where the league could well be decided."
Next up for the Scottish champions will be Hearts at Celtic Park on Saturday.
As well as keeping the pressure on Rangers, McGeady believes the match will be a revenge mission for Celtic.
He told Celtic View: "The last time we played Hearts we drew and the time before that was in the CIS Cup at home, where we lost so we will want to make amends for that on Saturday.
"It's always a tough game against Hearts, who are a physical team. They maybe haven't been doing as well this season but they still have players who can cause you problems."
