West Brom boss Tony Mowbray was pleased to see his side keep their first clean sheet in seven league matches against Sheffield United. It was the first time Albion had stopped the opposition from scoring since a 5-0 home win over Scunthorpe on December 29.
Mowbray hopes the improvement in his side's rearguard will help them produce a stronger finish to the campaign than last season when they only took 13 points from a possible 33 to finish fourth - which is where the Baggies now find themselves after the stalemate saw them slip out of the automatic promotion places for the first time since November.
"The clean sheet is a huge bonus for our team," said Mowbray. "We have got to improve on the run-in from last season because we did not win many matches, and I am sure we will improve on it.
"When I look at the games we have got, there are plenty of points for us to pick up.
"We didn't feel threatened (against Sheffield United). I thought we were solid while the team tried to create chances and score goals. If we continue in that vein, we will be fine and win plenty of matches."
