Sheridan wants more consistency

Wed 13 Feb, 03:00 PM

Oldham manager John Sheridan refused to blame a rushed preparation for the 1-0 defeat by Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium on Tuesday. The visitors arrived at the ground less than an hour before kick-off, having been delayed by a motorway accident.

But after losing to an injury-time goal from Craig Disley, Sheridan insisted: "We can't use the build-up to the game as an excuse.

"I wasn't happy with our performance but for most of the game there was nothing between the teams.

"Rovers created some chances at the end and Mark Crossley has made some brilliant saves. When they hit the crossbar as well I thought we might escape with a point.

"But I am disappointed by our lack of consistency and it's my job to improve it."
