Sturrock welcomes back Wotton

Wed 13 Feb, 03:45 PM

Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock believes Paul Wotton's return to action on Tuesday night could prove a timely boost for his play-off chasing side. The 30-year-old club captain made his first appearance in over a year as a late substitute in Argyle's 3-0 win over Barnsley after suffering a knee injury against Hull in December 2006.

"He told me he was going on, so there was no arguing with him," Sturrock told the club's official website.

"It was nice that we got to clean the tubes out for him. He had a shot at goal and a cross in the time that he was on.

"I am pleased for him but there is still a lot of work to be done for that sharpness."
