Pekhart Reveals Spurs Rift

Wed 13 Feb, 07:09 PM

Tottenham youngster Tomas Pekhart claims Paul Robinson refused to warm up the first time he was dropped by Juande Ramos.

Ramos left Robinson out of his starting XI for the first leg of Spurs' Carling Cup semi-final against Arsenal, with Radek Cerny getting the nod.

The England international, who did not feature in Fabio Capello's first squad, has been forced to look on from the bench ever since with Pekhart's Czech compatriot Cerny making the position his own.

And teenage forward Pekhart, who moved to White Hart Lane from Slavia Prague in the summer of 2006, has revealed how Robinson reacted badly to the news he had been dropped.

He told Sport: "When the coach put him on the bench for the first time, against Arsenal, he did not even go to the warm-up which made the coach even more angry."

Pekhart has yet to make his mark on the Spurs first-team, but is delighted to see Cerny getting his chance to impress.

He added: "Radek is happy he is enjoying every game and I feel happy for him.

"He has not been getting many chances before, but I know that the guys have been saying at training that he was making some unbelievable saves at times. I wish him well."
