A decision about whether on-loan Sunderland striker Ryan Noble will remain at Derby is imminent, according to Rams boss Nigel Clough.
Noble's month-long stay at Pride Park is set to expire after the home game against Reading on Tuesday night.
"We are going to have a chat with both Ryan and Sunderland in the next day or so and see where the land lies," Clough told his club's official website.
"It is important to know what Ryan is thinking and Sunderland control the situation because he is their player. They have a few injuries up front at the moment so they may want him back up there, we will have to wait and see.
"We would like to keep him around the place if we can as you can't have enough strikers and options to call upon."
Since returning for a second temporary spell with Derby, Noble, 20, has made one start and a further appearance from the bench for Clough's side.

And now he is going back to Sunderland, can anyone tell me what was the point of the original loan? Waste of the lads time and Derby's. No danger of Derby going mad with cash Frank or going anywhere other than lower half of the Championship. What's the point if that's the pinnacle of the clubs ambition? There has to be a balance and Derby just hasn't got it!
If you want to see strikers that cant score visit "The City Ground, Trent Bridge, Nottm" we've got loads of em.
Simlpe common sense from Frank.
Not about this story BUT......after seeing Portsmouth and now Rangers going into administration I'm glad we're not going mad with the cash. There will be more top clubs going under. Yes Derby need to progress but if we get into trouble again I don't think there's a buyer around the corner to keep us afloat this time.
No point in strikers if they don't SCORE NC. Suggest some school yard kicking-in practice called for.
