Crewe assistant manager Neil Baker admits they "will have to play a lot better" to stand any chance of beating Gillingham at the weekend. The Alex fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of bottom club Port Vale on Tuesday night and come up against another team in the League One drop zone at the weekend.
The Railwaymen are just a point and place above the Gills and defeat would send them back into the relegation places.
Baker, however, remains confident of victory but concedes they will have to drastically improve.
He told the Sentinel: "There were not many good things to take from the Vale game.
"We think we can win on Saturday, but we will have to play a lot better, that's for sure."
