Luton manager Mick Harford has vowed that the Hatters will fight relegation from League One "until it's mathematically impossible" to stay up.Harford has picked up just two points from his first 12 games in charge at Kenilworth Road but has refused to throw in the towel despite his side now being 11 points adrift of safety.
He said: "We've got to go on an unbelievable run. It would be a monumental effort to stay in this division.
"In the 12 games I've been in charge, we seem to have developed a habit of handing teams a headstart.
"But I'll take every positive I can and the second-half performance (against Carlisle) was fantastic. What I saw gave me a glimmer of hope. I asked them afterwards why it has taken so long for them to produce a performance like that.
"I want the players to go out with the same mentality for the full 90 minutes against Oldham."
