Mansfield Town caretaker manager Paul Holland does not expect defender Martin McIntosh to play again this season. The injury-stricken player has been sidelined since the turn of the year with a troublesome calf complaint.
It is the latest in a succession of injuries after the Scot was sidelined for much of the first half of the campaign with hamstring and back problems.
Holland said: "He hasn't been able to play since the end of last year and it would take him six to eight weeks to get properly fit again now, which would bring us to the end of the season.
"Martin has been very honest and has said he will struggle to play again this season.
"He is as frustrated as anyone but I spoke to him on Sunday and he said if there was anything he could do to help me he would, which I appreciate."
