Getafe coach Michael Laudrup was quick to switch his focus to more pressing matters after leading his side into the UEFA Cup quarter-finals.Laudrup is looking forward to recovering some of his injured players and preparing for their upcoming domestic matches.
Getafe completed the double over Portuguese giants Benfica on Wednesday night when Juan Angel Albin's second-half goal earned the Spanish side a 1-0 home win to go with their 2-1 first leg triumph.
That meant Getafe's dream first season in European competition will continue for two more matches at least, and the club from the outskirts of Madrid will find out their quarter-final opponents on Friday.
However, Laudrup preferred not to think about who might be up next for his in-form side in Europe, but instead to concentrate his thoughts on the upcoming league matches against Racing Santander and Athletic Bilbao, and the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg against Racing.
The former Denmark international is also currently more concerned with getting back some of his players, with seven missing the Benfica match through injury, while another two were suspended.
"I don't mind who our next opponents are. What concerns me is that we recover some players ahead of the very important games that we have coming up," said Laudrup.
"We only had 14 players plus two more from the reserves. We have come out very well here but we cannot live like that."
Such was his list of absentees for the match, Laudrup - whose side are now unbeaten in 10 matches - was unable to name his full quota of substitutes and employed creative midfielder Ruben de la Red as a makeshift centre-back.
"We tried to pick a competitive team and everyone responded," said Laudrup.
"It was a hard-earned victory. Benfica had more of the ball than us, but they only had two chances. We had more and we took advantage of them."
Despite playing out of position, De la Red was superb at the back for Getafe, and Laudrup said of the 22-year-old: "Ruben has shown that he can play there.
"He had a great game at centre-back, but his position is in centre midfield. We only had De la Red, someone had to play there."
