Sturrock searching for a stopper

Thu 13 Mar, 05:30 PM

Plymouth Argyle boss Paul Sturrock is trying to sign a goalkeeper on a short-term loan before the clash with Championship leaders Bristol City.Regular keeper Luke McCormick is suspended for the match after being controversially dismissed in the 1-0 defeat at Scunthorpe and Romain Larrieu is injured.

Sturrock admits it is hard finding a short-term replacement for McCormick and he said: "It is not as easy as it seemed to be. It is amazing how many goalies are injured in this country at the moment

"The search goes on. We have got a list of goalkeepers and we are ticking them off as we go along, but nothing is concrete yet.

"We will be on it all day. It is obviously a lot to ask a player to come all the way down from up North to train on a Friday and then go back up to Bristol.

"You have got to sign him for seven days but he will only be with us for one game."
