Gianluigi Buffon, the Italian international goalkeeper, has signed a two-year contract extension with Juventus, committing himself to the club until 2013.
The 30-year-old became the world's most expensive goalkeeper when he moved from Parma to Juve in 2001 - in a deal worth £32.6million - and could potentially end his playing days in Turin.
"I will be at Juventus until I'm 35," Buffon said. "Hence, we will have the time to achieve results and reach the goals everyone expects from us. This could be my last contract but it will depend on my form in 2013. If when I'm 35 I had the certainty that I was physically well I could continue.
"In the next five years I want to win the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup with Juve."
Buffon chose to stay with Juve following their relegation to Serie B in the wake of the Italian match-fixing scandal in 2006, and helped his side earn an immediate return to the top tier.
He made his international debut in 1997, and has collected 70 caps in an already illustrious career.
The former UEFA Footballer of the Year (2003) played in all seven of Italy's games on their way to World Cup glory in 2006, conceding just two goals and earning the Yashin Award as the tournament's best goalkeeper.
