Bolton face a tall order trying to win away against Sporting Lisbon with no fewer than 12 first-team players on the sidelines.
Sporting Lisbon v Bolton Wanderers (1-1 first leg) - 8pm
On the face of it, Bolton have no chance, lining up as they do without (deep breath) El-Hadji Diouf, Kevin Davies, Kevin Nolan, Jussi Jaaskelainen, Andy O'Brien, Matt Taylor, Ricardo Gardner, Gavin McCann, Tamir Cohen, Gretar Steinsson, Grzegorz Rasiak and Ivan Campo through a combination of injury, suspension, ineligibility and being told to put their feet up.
Granted, the side that drew at Bayern Munich was not full strength but it looks like a tall order following the 1-1 draw at the Reebok. Sporting are expected to field all their big guns including Brazilian striker Liedson and highly-rated playmaker Joao Moutinho. Only Miguel Veloso is missing, although the Lisbon side are in poor form having lost to Guimaraes at the weekend.
Werder Bremen v Rangers (0-2) - 7.30pm
Rangers will be without leading striker Jean-Claude Darcheville, who did not travel because of a hamstring injury and hopes to be fit for the League Cup final on Sunday. Walter Smith will employ a defensive 4-1-4-1 formation as he looks to protect a 2-0 lead, using Nacho Novo as a lone striker.
Bremen keeper Tim Wiese keeps his place despite his howlers at Ibrox last week, while Diego and Anglo-German Aaron Hunt should also start despite a dressing-room tiff between the pair.
