Championship - Forest take Gunter on loan

Nottingham Forest have signed Wales full-back Chris Gunter on loan from Tottenham until the end of the season.

The Premier League side confirmed his return to the Championship on their official website.

Gunter, 19, joined Spurs from Cardiff in January 2008 and has made 15 appearances for the North London club, mostly in the UEFA Cup.

But first-team opportunities were limited following the re-signing of Pascal Chimbonda from Sunderland, and he has not featured in the league since October.

"It would do him good to go out on loan, but he is a young player who we hope has got a big future here," Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said before the move was arranged.

  2. Davies bemoans the lack of older heads saying the squad­ and bench are full of "kids". Then he brings­ in a 19 year old. Just goes to show he talks rubbish­ most of the time.
    Having said that if the boy can play­ then it's a good move for Forest.
