Calderwood: Play-offs secured

Sun 13 Apr, 03:00 PM

Nottingham Forest manager Colin Calderwood believes his side's play-off place is "all but guaranteed" after they triumphed 2-0 at Tranmere.Forest went in front against the run of play in the 34th minute when Nathan Tyson got the better of Antony Kay and rounded keeper Danny Coyne for his eighth goal of the season.

The visitors then doubled their lead in the 51st minute, when Wes Morgan powered in a header from a cross by Cohen following a short corner.

Calderwood said: "It was a really good result for us in a hard fought and fairly even game.

"We were striving to compete and get a foothold in the game early on and we went ahead against the run of play.

"Once we got the second goal I thought we controlled matters and it was comfortable in the end. All credit to the boys for showing a good spirit and plenty of aggression.

"The playoffs are all but guaranteed now. A result like this all goes well for us but we need to be more composed."
