Chester manager Simon Davies blamed poor finishing for his side's 2-1 defeat by Lincoln as they were sucked closer to the relegation dogfight.Paul McManus had fired Chester ahead in the 20th minute after Kevin Ellison saw his penalty saved but the Imps, who has Danny N'Guessan sent off with 20 minutes remaining, hit back instantly through Jamie Forrester's quick-fire brace.
Davies said: "We'll probably never create as many chances as we did in that one game and come away with nothing. We've created 15-20 chances and only took one.
"To be fair, everything went to plan but we just didn't take our chances, and for their two goals we went to sleep.
"At the end of the day we created chance after chance and played ever so well and it all comes down to the finishing."
Regarding his team's current league position, which sees them nervously looking over their shoulders, he added: "Over the last three or four games those around us have been creeping ever closer and this was a game we know we should have won."
