Ling blasts Orient performance

Sun 13 Apr, 05:15 PM

Angry Leyton Orient manager Martin Ling blasted his side after they crashed to a fifth defeat in a row, beaten 2-0 at Oldham. The injury-hit Latics went in front through Chris Taylor's strike and Mark Allott clinched the points just before half-time with a rocket from the edge of the box.

The Os have slipped away after a promising start to the season and their hopes of a play-off place were extinguished once and for all by this loss.

And Ling raged: "We were rubbish, terrible and it was unacceptable. The first 45 minutes was not a team I want to be associated with, we didn't do anything constructive both going forward and defensively.

"Some of the players had their swim suits and flip-flops on. It was nowhere near the standards we have set and they have been told in no uncertain terms it wasn't good enough."
