Sun 13 Apr, 03:15 PM

Billy Reid hailed his "outstanding" Hamilton players after they beat Livingston to move to within 90 minutes of the First Division title.Goals from Richard Offiong, James McCarthy and Simon Mensing wrapped up the points before the second half was a minute old.

Now Accies will seal promotion to the top flight if they beat Reid's former club Clyde at New Douglas Park on Saturday.

He said: "This was always going to be a difficult game but for the first 60 minutes we were outstanding.

"We will take nothing for granted until we are over the line but if we beat Clyde we will be champions.

"There is a bit of history between the teams but it is in our hands."

Dundee's 3-0 triumph against relegated Stirling at Dens Park maintained the four-point gap with two games left.

Goalscorer Gary MacKenzie said: "Given Hamilton's home record we need a miracle now - but we have to hope.

"It was sickening to come off and find out they had won again. I thought this was going to be our chance because of their record at Livingston but they have done it again.

"We just want to have a say in it and get them back here on the final day because we'll beat them. But as it stands it's down to Clyde."

Morton boss Davie Irons feels his side can still avoid a relegation play-off despite a 3-2 defeat at St Johnstone. Clyde's 2-1 loss at Dunfermline keeps second-bottom Morton three points behind.

Irons said: "All three goals we lost were poor on our part - three crosses and three goals.

"But we have a good spirit and if we play in the same manner then we still have a chance of avoiding the relegation play-offs."

Alloa moved into the Second Division play-off spot with a 2-0 win over champions Ross County thanks to Andy Ferguson's late double.

Boss Allan Maitland said: "Even if we don't secure a play-off spot we can still be proud."

Brechin lost fourth spot when Raith Rovers forward Graham Weir cancelled out Ian Diack's opener at Starks Park.

"We got the goal and I thought we could have held on but we lacked belief," City boss Michael O'Neill said.

"We had a lot of tired players and it showed in the second half, so I'm happy with the draw."

Montrose joined Stranraer in the Third Division play-offs with a 0-0 draw at Dumbarton.

Stranraer's 3-2 win at Elgin leaves Arbroath four points ahead in fourth spot but boss John McGlashan was unhappy with his team's 1-0 defeat at home to East Stirlingshire.

"That was a big disappointment," McGlashan said. "We need to show more."
