Scott excited about next season

Sun 13 Apr, 04:15 PM

Brentford manager Andy Scott admitted he cannot wait for next season to start after seeing his side clinch a creditable 2-2 draw with Bradford.Glenn Poole's low drive and on-loan Reading defender Alan Bennett's spectacular effort from 30 yards were only enough to secure a share of the spoils while Peter Thorne and Kyle Nix were on traget for the Bantams.

Scott said: "The lads are very disappointed not to have won but I've told them I'm very excited about next season because we have a very strong nucleus here and when we add to that in the summer I think we will be a force.

"We had plenty of possession and I thought our midfield two were very impressive, but the boys are disappointed they've not gone on and won it.

"We have a good core here and they are playing football the right way. The nucleus needs to be added to in the summer and there are players on loan who I would love to keep but overall I can't wait for next season."

On Bennett's first League goal, Scott added: "We've been having shooting practice in training and he didn't score once. I think the last time he scored was for Cork Under-11s and when that one hit the net he didn't really know what to do."
