Emma Johansson of the Red Sun Cycling Team won the Ronde van Drenthe to take the overall lead in the women's World Cup standings.
A group of six was in the mix right at the death but Swede Johansson just took the win ahead of Dutch home favourites Loes Gunnewijk (Team Flexpoint) and Chantal Blaak (Leontien.nl) who had to settle for places on the podium.
The peloton came in seven seconds back of the top six, with previous World Cup overall leader Marianne Vos coming in eight.
Catherine Hare Williamson (Fenixs) and Alexandra Greenfield (Great Britain National Team) were the best of the Brits as they finished 18th and 19th respectively.
The race is the third in the UCI Women's World Cup which consists of 10 races in total.
In the less prestigious men's race, Maurizio Biondo (Ceramiche Flaminia) was able to just hold off Kenny van Hummel (Skil - Shimano) and Grega Bole (Amica Chips - Knauf) to win after escaping 10 km from the finish
