Former Ipswich captain Jason De Vos has backed Jim Magilton's side to win promotion from the Championship next season.De Vos retired from football after the last game of the season and begins work for Canadian television this week - where he plans to keep an eye on potential signings for Town.
He told the club's official website: "It was a very tough decision to call time on my career because I think I will miss out on promotion next season.
"But I felt it was the right time for me to go and it's a new challenge ahead of me and one I'm really excited about.
"I'm hoping to carry on doing my bit for the club as well.
"I will keep my eyes and ears open on players in the North American continent and if I feel there is someone good enough to play for Ipswich, I will be on the phone to the gaffer straight away."
