Tue 13 May, 05:45 PM

Bradford City vice-chairman Jim Brown is to stand down from his post at Valley Parade to concentrate on his business interests. The 51-year-old, who helped rescue the club from financial meltdown in 2004, feels his time on the board is spent following the arrival of joint-chairman Mark Lawn.

Brown told the club's official website: "My role has changed in the last 12 months.

"When you've two chairmen in charge, it's not that critical. We've got new ownership of the football club now and they have their own ideas. It's time to give the new brush a chance and I wish them well."

Brown is the former chairman of Halifax and was appointed to Bradford's board in January 2005.
