Eurosport - Tue, 13 May 13:36:00 2008

Ttitle hopefuls Gloucester and Wasps have each had two players nominated for the Guinness Premiership Player of the Season award.

Akapusi Qera - Gloucester - 0

Gloucester's rampaging Fiji flanker Akapusi Qera (pictured) and wing James Simpson-Daniel are joined in the nominations by Wasps try-machine Paul Sackey and rising England star Danny Cipriani.

Also up for the top award is centre Olly Barkley, who has been in outstanding form for Bath this season.

Simpson-Daniel finished the regular season as the league's third top try-scorer while Qera's destructive tackling and powerful running has been crucial to Gloucester topping the table at the end of the regular season.

Cipriani, who took over from Jonny Wilkinson as England's number 10 during the Six Nations, has also been nominated for the Discovery of the Season award.

Joining the 20-year-old in that category is Harlequins scrum-half Danny Care and his team-mate and flanker Chris Robshaw, Bath's giant wing Matt Banahan and Sale full-back Ben Foden.

Dean Richards of Harlequins, Bath's Steve Meehan and Dean Ryan of Gloucester will contest the director of rugby award.
