Charlton starlet Jonjo Shelvey missed England`s final game of the UEFA European Under-17 Championships through injury.

The 17-year-old midfielder suffered a thigh problem during the 4-0 defeat by hosts Germany on Saturday and failed a late fitness test ahead of Tuesday afternoon`s clash with Turkey.

Shelvey, who became Charlton`s youngest-ever player in April last year aged 16 years and 59 days, could only watch from the sidelines as England were beaten 1-0 and dumped out of the competition.
