Rochdale have been handed a derby clash against Oldham at home after the draw for the first round of the Carling Cup was made on Friday.The Lancashire rivals have not played each other since 1974, when they met in the old third division, but Keith Hill's men will fancy their chances of an upset.

Dale narrowly lost out on promotion last season after a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Stockport in the League Two play-off final.

The tie will be played in the week commencing August 11.
