Ian McParland's Notts County side will face Championship new-boys Doncaster Rovers at Meadow Lane in the Carling Cup first round.It is the fourth successive season that the Magpies have been drawn against Championship opposition at the first stage of the competition.
County crashed out 3-0 at Coventry in the first round last season.
The tie against Rovers will take place in the week commencing August 11.
