Ever since Manchester United accepted an £80 million bid for Cristanio Ronaldo our comment boxes and message boards have been buzzing with debate.
Is the move a good bit of business by United? Have Real signed the world's best player? Is it a step up or a step down for Ronaldo? Who will United sign to replace him?
The debate is sure to rage and rage until we finally get to see what difference the transfer makes to both clubs on the field next season.
But what do you think? Have your say below or on the message boards via the link underneath the photo.
Here is what some of you have been saying.
Kate C: Goodbye Ronny we won't shed any tears for you, you are not Beckham or Cantona and by the time you are thirty you will be finished as a footballer and your looks will have gone. I never trusted you right from the beginning. The night I saw you in that daft white suite I knew my first feelings for you had been correct you are an arrogant lad who likes everything to be about YOU. Well good luck to you at Real Madrid, but you will miss us more than we will miss you.
Stevecoxuk67: Never been comfortable with Ronaldo in the team since the Portuguese winker showed his true nature against England. Incredible performances in the past three seasons and thanks for all you did, but you did it only for self glorification and to catch Real's eye. £80 million is a great deal for United for a petulant player that had lost his interest in playing for them.
Go: Manchester United has reached the end of Ferguson's line. It would be best for him to retire now and let whoever is to come to build a new team. No point of Fergie starting to build a team only to quit next year. Either way United will not be a challenger for the next few years. They have been a one man team all along, and now the bullying United fans will see what kind of a team they really are. The 1-0 wins over the likes of Stokes and Hull will not come easy anymore.
Treherne1: His record speaks volumes. Since arriving in Manchester in 2003 he has won three Premier League titles, one FA Cup, two League Cups, the World Club Cup and a Champions League for good measure, scoring a total of 117 goals along the way. His impact has been enormous and there is no doubt he has played a huge part in United's success over the past six years. He will be missed but Beckham and Keane to name just two also left Man U. They were missed, but not for too long. No one is too big to play for Man United.
Joe Tooga: Although I always wished Ronaldo stayed with Manchester United, I must confess that, far too often, some of his colleagues clearly showed that they were not in "the same league". There were matches when Ronaldo had ten proper passes to his colleagues but would get only one or two decent ones in return. I am convinced that Alex Ferguson himself may have despaired with situations like that, which often forced Ronaldo to try and do everything himself. Had Ronaldo been playing with a more skilful team, he would be untouchable for the next five or six years as he is the best in the world!
Karllap: We paid £12m for him five years ago, he has helped us win multiple titles, and trophies and electrified the English league. He has given good service and now wants to try and prove himself in another league. We get £80m he gets his move and everyone should be happy. I personally wish him well and look forward to United moving on as they always do whenever great players leave the club
Briansharman: I am a life-long supporter of Man U and feel very disappointed at losing Ronaldo. I am old enough to have seen the original Busby Babes and believe that never before have United had a player with the skill and pace of Ronaldo. There is no replacement for him. The other so called best players in the World ie. Kaka, Messi, Villa and so on do not have the bottle to ply their trade in the English Premiership because it will be too much like hard work for them. They are afraid of the competitive edge which they will face week in and week out. For these reasons, I can not see Sir Alex being able to persuade any world class striker to step foot into Old Trafford. I hope I am wrong.

Yes . I salute Ronaldo's achivement and contribution over the years.
But his arrogance and selfishness on the pitch doesn't attract me .
Wayne Rooney's sending off in 2006 is enough to kill his reputation .
Is good for him and Manchester United . He got what he wanted and 80 Mil is enough to bring in high profile players to replace him and strengthen the team.
Without him in the squad next season , we can see more of the real Manchester United .
Afterall , we have been depending too much on him for the past years . It is a one man show .
His departure will surely benefit Manchester United and the players as well . Wayne Rooney will be back at his
favourite position . He will start to score like a hungry lion :D
And not to forget , signing World Class players with that 80 mil will absolutely enhance the team.
We are counting on u Ferguson !!
Hope to see David Silva next season !! :D
Adios Ronny. Must say it was nice while it lasted but your reaction to being substituted against our City rivals was to say the least unacceptable. Everything here is team before self. Now that you are at Real you can ask Ruud. Thanks for your good service. We will try to forget the bad and ugly and give you a testimonial one day.
lets buy lennon.. better than cr or young instead
Too good to be bad . Good move from Manchester United .
Signing him for 12mil and now .. 80 Mil ? It's good investment .
Although i strongly disagree with the world record deal .
He is not even up to that price . Not even Kaka's 62mil .
80 Mil is hell lot of money . ManUtd would benefit from it . Bring in World Class players like Silva , Ribery , Benzema and moreee :D
nnrico
You talk a load of @#$% watch and learn next year yet again the PL DOMINANCE OF EUROPE YOU ARE WELCOME TO THE ONE TRICK PONY AND AFTER 2 SEASONS HE WILL MOVE ON AGAIN BECAUSE ITS ABOUT THE MONEY AND WHAT HIS MOTHER WANTS AS FOR ENGLAND AS A NATION WE HAVE THROUGH HISTORY ALWAYS KICKED @#$% I BELIEVE PORTUGAL'S WAR HERO'S MUSEUM IS HOUSED IN A TELEPHONE BOX. THE ONLY OTHER THING YOU HAVE GIVEN THE WORLD IS PORT AND DONKEYS ONLY ONE TEAM IN SPAIN AND THATS BARCELONA
He had one truly outstanding season and then dropped off faster than the stock of GM. let him go - semi-retirement with Real and counting his dosh and shagging some glaikit ho-bags! great life!
Coulda been a legend!
Rosebud
ah but you wish you could buy more stars your success has been diminishing because its one thing to balance the books but you need success on the field to keep supporters intrested as for filling the ground every week your attendence is far below that of utds by about 17000 as for whoreing ourselves in asia people will come and see us would they come to watch arsenal ot indeed would of heard of u i dont think so we are a big club and i think fergie has a habit of selling players when the time is right will u feel the same when you loose fabrigas to real?or will you be winging on one of these blogs about the lack of ambition.I also think wenger will only remain at arsenal for one more season if they donot give him some money for transfers.
milltonroofing

CANT WAIT FOR WORLD CUP (ENGLAND V PORTUGAL)
ALL ENGLAND SUPPORTERS BOOOO RONALDO
COME ON ENGLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cr7 caught a disease from his night in paris!
I see go has been throwing his tuppence-worth opinion into the ring. @#$%!
Yes, sure United are a one-man show and Fergie should retire?. Ok! sure. I bet he does think that, cos then his nonce team would have a chance then!!!! does he know anything about football whatsoever? didn't think so!
95. you c**k. you obviously dont know jack about football, mikel arteta, are taking the p**s
i am a life long united fan, And it still hasnt sunk in. And after everything the manager said about not selling them a virus. This is the worst week of my life. How could carlisle sell danny graham to leeds? !?!?!?
real got their man, utd got 80 mil, and ronaldo got his wish. all happy then. i think fergie will be at utd for a couple more seasons yet which is a shame, id like to see what mourinho can do in his shoes, he's well liked by a lot of world class players, hes honest and genuine. so maybe! bye ronaldo and bye fergie too. let someone else have a go. he's not been happy this season you can tell that by his celebrations when he scores and as such utd have not played their best so him going may turn out to be fergies master stroke, we'll have to see who comes in and who else goes out. they could do with keeping tevez, and getting shut of fletcher, o'shea, and park and getting them replaced now because next season no giggsy or ronaldo, season after no scholes or neville and a few others getting a bit past their sell by date nows the time for a new manager to come in and build a new team . nani can be the next ronaldo he just hasn't had the chance yet, so now ronaldos gone he can prove it
it is the right time 2 leave for him! rubbish eneyway! MIKEL ARTETA MUCH BETTER COMMIMG FROM A EVERTON SUPPORTER********!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good for both parties. Ronaldo will become the richest footballer in history and ManUtd will keep winning trophies. Sir Alex doesn't buy big stars, he MAKES them big. That's his game. After last year's fiasco with Real Madrid, the transfer was expected. Nobody's crying about it, ask around, everybody's happy. Ronaldo's memorable sulk said it all. But hats off to Ronaldo for his tremendous contribution to ManUtd's campaign this year. It was pivotal. Barca should stop moaning about it. If they're the best in Europe, they should fear no one, right? Michel Platini - shut up pls you jealous French! You are ruining football. This is a free market enterprise. Otherwise, UEFA will be out of business! Go for it Ronaldo & Sir Alex!
rosebud....your statement so stupid....where u put your brain......
No Rosebud, United are selling for the long term good of the club, CR7 couldn't be any good for morale in recent times so that had to be nipped in the bud. In truth in that case, United are selling for success and not buying as you put it. If Real want to pay copious amounts of money on a petulent little brat that would make them buyers of success wouldn't it?
