Brian Laws believes his Sheffield Wednesday side are capable of challenging for promotion from the Championship next season.
The Owls boss insists that a top-six finish is a realistic target for the club given chairman Lee Stafford's takeover plan to be playing Premier League football within the next three years.
Laws told The Star: "You have to have set out your targets, and we have set ours by aiming for the top six next season.
"There is no point in setting out those sort of targets if you don't believe you can achieve them.
"From the chats I had with the players, I know that they believe we should be there or thereabouts and that with a bit more consistency we could have been up there this year."

jscholey161 should be offered a punters job on eurosport, what a cool guy
No chance for promotion for a mediocre small club like SWFC. You don't seriously think they can compete with big clubs like Boro and Newcastle do you? Wednesday are just a league one squad punching above their weight in the championship. They only finished a few points above the relegation places last season. Premiership? You're having a laff.
Brian, you need to avoid the silly and unnecesary injuries to key players,in games of no importance. Johnson clowning around in Jamaica will not help.More discipline here
would have avoided this and other daft injuries which have cost us dear.
