Young Plymouth goalkeeper Lloyd Saxton is expected to make a decision on his future within the next week.
The 19-year-old academy product was offered a new one-year contract at the end of last season.
Saxton has yet to make his senior debut for the Pilgrims but he was named among the substitutes for matches towards the end of last season as cover for player-of-the-year Romain Larrieu.
Argyle boss Paul Sturrock told the Herald: "Lloyd has been made an offer and he and his agent are thinking about it. They have got a month from when we made the offer to make a decision.
"I had a word with Lloyd a couple of times before I went on holiday about what my thoughts were. In the end, it's up to him to make this decision."
Should Saxton decide to leave Home Park and sign for another club, Plymouth would be entitled to a compensation payment because the player is under the age of 24.
