West Ham are understood to be closing in on the signing of Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.
Boss Sam Allardyce has raided his former club Bolton to land veteran stopper Jaaskelainen on a free transfer to replace the outgoing Rob Green.
And Allardyce is also hot on the trail of Senegal midfielder Mohamed Diame, who has just been released by Wigan.
A statement on the Hammers' website read: "Talks are at an advanced stage to sign two of the best 'Bosman' transfers available in the Premier League."

Nice one Samuel , do we detect shades of Harry ?
Don't know anything about Diame but if Wigan release him then I am worried. He must have played for Bolton at some time I guess! They are also rumoured to be after other players (yet another striker so doesn't Allardyce have any faith in those he signed last year?). I thought that the club wanted to reduce their wage bill but such transfer rumours don't bear this out. Why did they let the likes of Faubert go then? Who is next to go, no doubt because he is not a "Sam man"
