Alexander wants better finishing

Sun 13 Jul, 03:45 PM

Macclesfield boss Keith Alexander admits his side need to improve in front of goal after they beat Bradford Park Avenue 1-0 in a friendly.Despite dominating possession, the Silkmen had just Francis Green's goal to show for their endeavours, the much-travelled frontman netting his second goal of the pre-season campaign, having also scored in the draw with Congleton.

And Alexander told the club's official website: "I was pleased with the performance at times, I thought we played some nice football.

"The one thing that was missing was our finishing apart from Franny who took his goal very well.

"That's something we have to work on but at no stage did I think they were going to score as we had a lot of the ball and looked solid at the back when we need to be."
