Blackwell Hungary for Blades test

Sun 13 Jul, 02:15 PM

Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell is looking forward to testing his side against Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros. The Blades take on their sister club in Hungary on Monday and Blackwell believes the trip is ideal for their pre-season preparations.

He told the club's official website: "I was very impressed with Ferencvaros when we went across last season. You know about their history, but don't realise the size of the club until you are there.

"The training facilities are first class and that is something you can have problems with when you are abroad.

"The training pitches aren't always conducive for what you need to do but we won't be in that boat in Hungary.

"It'll be a tough start to our tour and there should be a 15,000 crowd, which will make for a good atmosphere. The tour is about getting minutes into the legs and putting the players back into their routines."
