Brighton stalwart Kerry Mayo is set to be offered fresh terms just two months after being told he had no future with the League One club. The 30-year-old defender, who has been with Brighton for 13 years, was released at the end of last season by previous manager Dean Wilkins.
But Mayo joined the Seagulls for pre-season training and has impressed new boss Micky Adams with his attitude and commitment to the blue and white shirt.
"Kerry has always had a future with me," said Adams, who also managed Mayo during his previous stint as Albion boss.
"He epitomises everything that is good about Brighton & Hove Albion. He loves Brighton, he's a committed player and I think our squad needs that kind of commitment in general."
Mayo played the second half of Brighton's 4-0 friendly win at Worthing, in which Kevin McLeod, Glenn Murray, Colin Hawkins and Scott Chamberlain were on target.
