Leicester boss Nigel Pearson got a glimpse of the tough task that lies ahead after a hard-fought 5-4 win over local side Hinckley.Early goals from Steve Howard and Nicky Adams put City into the lead but a double from Gez Murphy and Adam Webster's strike left the Foxes 3-2 down at the break.
However, second-half goals from Max Gradel, Matty Fryatt and Ashley Chambers secured victory for the League One side, while Webster hit a consolation.
Pearson told the club's official website: "I learned a lot from the team and I have got a few things to consider over the next few weeks.
"We know we have got a difficult season ahead and come August 9 we will be ready for the challenge."

foxes better get ready for a run a round ..... they just might find there true level very soon div 2 hahahahahahahaha going down
Come on, the situation demands we as supporters need to be strong, Blue is in my blood and the saying is "These colours never run" , we will be long here after Mandaric, I also believe he made a massive mistake letting Martin Allen go, we may have not got promotion but we not have got relegated either, all this @#$% we are too good for this division, we are not, the league tables never lie
Come on Leicester
tonytts I understand your disppointment at last season.... but saying the manager might as well quit now is a bit stupid isnt it?? What we really need to do is get behind the new crop of players and see if we can get us out of this division as qucik as possible. Thats what we the city as fans deserve and the city as a whole!!
Stand up and be counted...there will be know where to hide this season for any player or manager....or the board. We the supporters and I'm a member will accept nothing more then total focus from the kickoff this season......The owner must take some of the blame for the changes and appointments made last season...
You have my support so let's see where we go again in this clubs life.????
Well; I was a fully paid up member but after last seasons debacle of what they call football I no longer am and I can see no reason why I should consider wasting my time and money supporting a team of players who have no interest in the club but money.
I feel sorry fro the new manager.. he might as well quit no.
