Double: First Avenue and Adage.

First Avenue was turned over when favourite last time but should be given the chance to atone in the Royal Bank Of Scotland Handicap at Windsor on Monday.

Trained by Michael Jarvis, this highly-promising three-year-old has still to add to a maiden win last October.

However, he has had the misfortune to bump into some really good horses this season and it will be a huge shock if he fails to win off his current handicap mark of 83 at some stage.

After finishing third behind subsequent Royal Ascot Group Two runner-up Conduit two starts ago, the selection found only Downhiller too strong at Newbury.

That race featured plenty of lightly-raced types and he beat the rest comfortably enough to suggest a second success is just round the corner.

To add further confidence, First Avenue's sole success came on ground with some cut, so punters need not worry about his ability to act on rain softened ground.

Another confirmed 'wet-tracker' is Kelamon, who looks well worth an interest in the Pattonair Derby Challenge & Innovate Handicap.

Mark Usher's charge won over six furlongs here last time but had his race in safe keeping with a quarter-mile to run, suggesting the drop to the minimum trip should be right up his alley.

The British summer has been as unpredictable as ever of late but Holiday Cocktail is fancied to chase away any rain-related blues by hitting the target at Ayr.

John Quinn's charge won with a bit up his sleeve at Pontefract last week and must have a cracking chance without a penalty to worry about in the Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Handicap.

Young amateur Jamie Kyne seemed to strike up an excellent rapport with the gelding last week and will be keen to impress again.

It is difficult to be too enthusiastic about Wolverhampton's card, which looks light on quality and also very tricky from a punting perspective.

However, the one that does stand out as a decent option for players is the David Pinder-trained Adage, who bids for a fourth career victory in the Buy Tickets Online Handicap.

This five-year-old mare is no world-beater but this is a pretty weak event and she must have a tremendous chance in a race that ought to play to her strengths.

All her previous wins have come at this track and trip and she is now lower in the handicap than when last successful here in September.

There was nothing wrong with her recent third at Kempton and a similar show will put her bang in the shake-up.

Trinity Rose could not have done the job any better at Cartmel last time and will take a world of beating in the North Devon Cancer Care Mares Only Novices' Hurdle at Newton Abbot.
