Serie A - Berlusconi: Kaka exit will help Ronaldinho

Eurosport - Mon, 13 Jul 15:07:00 2009

Kaka's exit from AC Milan will help fellow Brazilian Ronaldinho rediscover his best form, according to club president Silvio Berlusconi.

The pair failed to gel following Ronaldhino's move to the San Siro last summer as Milan finished a disappointing third in Serie A.

"(The sale of Kaka) will give Ronaldinho space," Berlusconi said. " All the other players also want this to be Ronaldinho's year.

"He's 29 and in top shape physically. All he needs now is the desire to be decisive for this Milan team and I believe we can have faith in him."

Berlusconi added that Ronaldinho can "be the extra man this season" after the club's financial situation forced them into selling Kaka - and urged his team to bounce back and start winning trophies again.

"We must take the field and have fun, be masters of the game," added the Italian Prime Minister.

"Perhaps with some tactical innovation, we are aiming to make a great Milan," he said, adding that while city rivals Internazionale are a good side he believes that Milan have better quality.

"I appreciate Inter from a physical and aesthetic perspective, but we have more class," he explained.

"From (Andrea) Pirlo, (Clarence) Seedorf, (Alexandre) Pato to Ronaldinho, there is no equal in Italy."

Berlusconi also insisted that the club would not be held to ransom over the transfer of Ronaldinho's fellow Brazilian Fabiano, despite Sevilla demanding up to 20 million euros for the striker - six million more than Milan are prepared to pay.

"I don't know what chance there is of Luis Fabiano arriving," he said.

"We're not going to spend silly money in a moment such as this when we are experiencing financial difficulties."

  2. I think Ronaldino will surprise many people this year.. maybe he is past his best just maybe.. but i still think he has enough for Milan... he still has his skill and touch (that never goes) and his creativity just maybe not the speed he had 3 years ago (linking with Pato is a necessity i believe ) but i believe he will do well.. hope so anyway.

  3. Yes...If RONALDINHO on top form..he is much much much better than KAKA or C.RONALDO no doubt about its...i really misss his talent..so genius..

  4. is this for real?? lets look at the descisons Milan have made. 1)sell your best individual talent, check 2) dont buy anybody remotely close in terms of skill and potential, check 3)talk about being able to challenge for lo scudetto...AC are a weaker team than last year and trusting 'dinho to come through!! It makes me laugh Kaka was 60 million where has that money gone? I am a Juve fan but am surprised AC didnt chase Tevez he works so hard for the team and keeps on going exactly the kind of player any team should want..

  10. if ronnie can change his attitude on and off the pitch, then he'll be back to form.. but i disagree that Milan can be superior to Inter if they stick to this team w/out frontman signing.. i dont know if Fabiano really worth 20m but he surely can boost Milan frontline.. so if he is valued 20m, then so be it.. its not even half what they got from Kaka sale..!

  12. In order to get Luis Fabiano, all they'd have to do is get rid of a terible player like Jankolovski and the money would be there. The Brazilian trident attack would be awesome between 'dinho, Pato, and Fabiano. It looks like 'dinho's form is returning.

  13. Ronaldinho will never return to the way he was. And does Berlusconi actually think Kaka's exit will help Ronaldhino? Well it might help him but it is going to destroy Milan. I am a Juventus fan and I hate to see Kaka go away from Milan because he actually provided a fun challenge for Juve. One last thing to say, Berlusconi, you're a joke.

    From borg_jeanpaul, on Mon 13 Jul 4:49PM
  14. of course it will help him. It's so obvious he was upstaged by faster, harder-working players (though arguably not possessing the level of skill which Ronaldinho has). With Kaka and Beckham gone, maybe playing the ball more through the middle will allow him to shine once again

From Simon, on Mon 13 Jul 4:20PM
  15. Ronaldinho is not interested in football any more. He is not playing well ( comparing to other players it means excellent) for a long time. He plays few matches well and next matches he hardly touches the ball. I have said "Goodbye Dinho" long time ago. I hope I was wrong......

  16. yes i am a dinho fan but d fact still remains dat dinho is a good player and can still return to his best at milan he is a very good player i bet you 2 just see 4 dis season i promise

  18. Ronaldinho will never play the way people expect him to. He has had his time and I even doubt if he will play at the world cup.

From Richie, on Mon 13 Jul 1:52PM
  19. I really do hope so. I am Dinho fan, and I hope he can produce the same magice in Milan as he did at Barca.
