Eurosport - Mon, 13 Jul 14:06:00 2009
We follow the pursuit of Bayern Munich and France star Franck Ribery.
January 11, 2009 - Ribery hints he wants to leave the Bundesliga giants: "You never know what happens in football. I am not threatening Bayern and I have not said I would leave Munich, but what should you say when you are asked what will happen in three years?"
March 4, 2009 - Bayern Munich chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: "Franck is happy at our club and is not seeking a transfer away from here."
April 13, 2009 - Bayern Munich captain Mark van Bommel: "Franck wants to play for Barcelona, more than that, I think it would be a good thing if Barca buys him, he would adapt easily,"
May 5, 2009 - Manchester United reportedly offer Bayern Munich 70 million euros (£60m) for Ribery.
June 2009 - Ribery emerges as a leading transfer target for new Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, along with Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo.
June 13, 2009 - Real advisor Zinedine Zidane says that Ribery is in talks over a move to Madrid.
June 16, 2009 - Bayern general manager Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says Real's claims are hot air and that bids have only been received from Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona. All were rejected as Bayern hold out for at least £60m for the Frenchman.
June 17, 2009 - As rumours intensify that Real Madrid could offer Wesley Sneijder and Rafael van der Vaart in exchange, Rummenigge softens his stance and says that "if he really wants to go" they could do business.
June 27, 2009 - After the Ribery saga appeared to die down somewhat, The Telegraph suggested that his move to Chelsea could be back on with Real Madrid cooling their interest after spending one billion dollars on attacking midfielders.
June 29, 2009 - Bayern general manager Uli Hoeness insists Ribery will stay, saying: "Did you ever think that we would give in? Have we ever shown signs of weakening? Franck will be on our training field on July 1."
July 2, 2009 - Ribery tells l'Equipe: "I have made up my mind, I want to leave. It will be Real (Madrid) or nothing."
July 8, 2009 - Real Madrid director general Jorge Valdano admits that the Spanish club have given up on trying to break Bayern's resolve: "Bayern finds many ways to say no, sometimes saying it categorically, sometimes by talking of a transfer fee of 80 million euros, which is another way of saying no."
July 12, 2009 - Reports in Sport magazine claim that Barcelona will offer Bayern Munich Alexandr Hleb, Eidur Gudjohnson AND cash for Ribery.
July 13, 2009 - AS are a pro-Real Madrid publication so, like Marca, can be viewed as the club's mouth-piece. They say that Los Merengues could get Ribery for as little as 16m euros next summer should the player invoke the Webster Clause (FIFA Article 17), which allows him to buy out his contract after serving three years. A genuine story or more Madrid hard-ball?

they r not sellin sneijder poom... n ribery will leave bayern... either this season or the next
jhxgcvuysdgvudvbfYUYYGDYGBYVUCDADCBUVUBIBVYHIVBUIYVBIFC GU9IG9UDUHFFJIJIPOKOOPKOMMLPLMMLML; THIS COOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
I'd like to see someone else from Bayern Munich in Premier League
Michael Rensing, Goalkeeper
man u shuld offer bayern for ribery £40 odd million nani Kuszczak danny simpson
wether Ribery stays or not Bayern needs some changes , Ottle , Lell , Breno are not needed . Bayern didnt so well in market this season , Gomez is a lower version of Klose , so we really didnt need him with 30 millions. Bayern needs a fast striker and Olic isn't top class . they need creativity , I think Van der vaart is a good choice. and as a goalkeeper they need Rene Adler from Leverkusen, even if he costs more than 20 millions.
Bayern either should extend Ribery's contract this season or sell him now.
Frank should go to Real Madrid.....bcos we want to bring back the Real Galanticos....ALL TITLES NEXT SEASON ARE COMING TO (ESTADIO SANTIAGO BERNABEU) FOR SURE... FLORENTINO PEREZ IS THE RIGHT LEADER OF REAL MADRID.....CARRY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....ALAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA MADRID.... GOD BLESS THE GALANTICOS... IM WITH U ANYDAY...ANYTIME...ANYWHERE........
All the moaning the Man U fans are doing over Madrid And City just smells of the stench of Manure Jealousy
United have spent vast amounts of cash on players just add up the cost of the current squad, Its only now United have pried themselves out the Market with the inflated Ron fee that this has happened. United shot themselves in the foot and are now dancing around on one leg blaming everyone else. Spurs have spent vasts amounts of cast in the last 2 years prob out spending most English teams didnt hear the Mancs moaning about that. Dont forget football isnt just about Man U
Bayern Munich shouls sell Frank Ribery for Real and must definitely get as a part exchange the Dutch Trio, Rafael Van Der Vaart, Klass jan Huntelaar and Wesley Sneijder. These players would give the team a chance in the Champions League. They are a must, Ribery won't stay in this form forever. If he stays next season will be worse than this one and his value would drop drastically, come on bayern Fans urge them to sell with a part exchange!!
Now it's official! When Hoeness says "he stays" then he stays for sure. I'm happy to se him 1 year or longer in the Arena. He's one of the best. Go Bayern
the mighty madrid just need to sing Villa & Alonso because Ribery IS A done deal thanks to Zidane & barcelona treble will just be a distant memory & the glory will be the mighty 1s again...............A REAL FAN
Buying Ribery is be a big mistake for real, They already have three world class wingers ( Kaka, Ronaldo and Ruben). Real Madrid need a world class left back a defender and a real midfielder. If they want to have all cups next year they should start the following players:
Cassillas
Maicon (Right Back)
Ramos (Center Defender)
Pepe ( Center defender)
Lham ( Left Back)
L Diarra
M Diarra
Kaka ( attacking mid)
Ronaldo
Ruben
Villa
Subs
Raul
Diddek
Huiganin
Gago
Van Nisterloy
Albidol
Marcelo
Selling shnider, van vaart and direnthe can provide enough cash to buy Maicon and Lham
s.coleman972, your a prize w**ker.
Real a buying all the worlds best players to prove that they r despate to win. Ribery will go to real i am certain. But the La Liga will soon hav the top four best players in they world. What does that tell us, that the spanish league is growing and will dominate or football has just become a buisiness
Ribery is NOT for sale...... so stop chasing him.....although he is wanted by several big clubs....and for big amount of money... but Bayern bosses won't sell him for any price and when they say he is not for sale this means he is not for sale.
His future is at Bayern he would be stupid if he left The Bavarian Giants... so hope he remains a part of the great team next year...
A True Bayern Fan
Only Real or Chelsea can buy Ribery..
Real dont need to just get Alonso and the midfield is ready
CHELSEA ARE W--KERS & MAN U YOU HAVE NO CHANCE THIS SEASON ARSENAL ARE THE BOY,S OK
this is just stupid !when did Real spend "one billion dollars on attacking midfielders"?
i knw lots of ppl will rate this lowly coz they r haters bt Ribery for Chelsea!!!!
jst imagine
...................Cech....................... ....
............Alex.........Terry.........
Maicon.... ..............................A.Cole
.................E ssien..................
........Pirlo............Lampar d
J.cole..........................Ribery
..........Pato /Tevez/Etoo...........:09/10-Dream team and at chelsea it is easier to become a legend as long as ure good and b in the winning team of the Champions League!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i do hope 4 this 2 @#$% tru
Blues 4 Lyf
Bayern needs to ship Ribery to Real Madrid in exchange for Wesley Sneijder and Rafael van der Vaart plus cash, then sell Toni, Sosa and/or Altintop (we do not need these players anyomore if get the Dutch duo plus Scheweini, then we have Bororowski for back up), we need to buy Beck for the Right back position and Manuel Neuer for GK.
This will be a good team and we do not need Ribery to win the CL, we won it in 2001 without a superstar, although we had a field leader: Effenberg
And I hope we can sell Van Bommel too along with Ottl, then buy Hitzlsperger to be our prime DM, captain and leader. At 27 he needs to make that jump in his career and I am convinced he is ready to do it.
alex ferguson should pull his finger out his arse and slam a £65m offer for frank ribery
