Jimmy White beat Barry Hawkins 8-6 in the final of the Sangsom 6-Red Grand Prix final in Bangkok to claim his first professional title in five years.
In a see-saw battle, White went 2-0 down but built up a 6-4 lead to take charge of the contest.
Hawkins hit back to level the match 6-6 but White won the last two frames to clinch his first professional success since the 2004 Players Championship.
White beat a host of big names in the knockout stages, including former world champions Shaun Murphy and Mark Williams, defending champion Ricky Walden, and top-16 player Mark King.
White picked up a cheque of 1,000,000 baht (approx £18,200) for his win.

He came to Pleasure Palace pool hall back in the '80's,about 40miles south of JHB RSA, to try and win a local pool tournament, he didnt though he, lost in the qualifiers, dont think he was tops then, but thats 'sport' hey, where has it got the rest of us who havnt put our talent to use!?!?!
Good luck Meester White.
please don't get excited about jimmy white winning a 6 red tournament,ok its nice he won something, jimmy was a great player for quite a few years, but unfortuneatly his time is up on the big stage and he's not going to be in the winners enclosure of any telly event, lets be realistic its not going to happen, and really i can't see how anybody can see this win as a professional title. i wish jimmy all the best for the future as he has done a good job for the game, which is more than i can say about some of the present players. ian b
